Additional USA destination: Eurowings Discover adds Tampa to flight schedule from December 2021
- First flight to the USA: Eurowings Discover will fly four times a week from Frankfurt to Tampa in Florida from December 16, 2021
- From summer 2022, the flight schedule will also include Anchorage, Fort Myers, Salt Lake City and Las Vegas.

Eurowings Discover is responding at short notice to the lifting of travel restrictions to the USA and will be offering travelers four weekly frequencies from Frankfurt to the "Sunshine City" of Tampa on Florida's west coast as early as mid-December 2021. This means that the vacation airline will take off for its first flight to the U.S. earlier than last planned, thus complementing the Lufthansa Group's flight offerings to North America. The Group had seen a real boom in demand for flights to the USA since the announced withdrawal of entry restrictions.
Eurowings Discover flies every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday in just under 11 hours from Frankfurt to Tampa, where vacationers can look forward to sunshine 365 days a year.
Lufthansa has already flown to Tampa in the past. From December 16, 2021, flights will be operated by Eurowings Discover, the Lufthansa Group's new tourist airline. Flights will be switched to Eurowings Discover (4Y) in Lufthansa's (LH) booking systems in early October. The flights are currently still bookable on lufthansa.com., after the changeover additionally on eurowings.com.
Diverse North American destinations in the 2022 summer flight schedule
In the course of the 2022 summer flight schedule, Eurowings Discover will expand its route network from the Frankfurt hub by four additional destinations in the USA as planned: From March 2022, the airline will fly three times a week to Fort Myers (Florida). Eurowings Discover will also be flying three times a week to the American metropolis of Las Vegas (Nevada) from March 2022. At the same time, the vacation airline is adding two weekly flights from the Bavarian capital Munich directly to Las Vegas to its flight schedule. In addition, Salt Lake City (Utah) in the western United States will be on the flight schedule for the first time from May 2/2 2022 with three weekly flights. From June 2022, Eurowings Discover will then fly to Anchorage (Alaska) - also with three flights a week.
In addition, the two Canadian cities of Calgary, three times a week from mid-May, and Halifax, also three times a week from mid-June, are on the Eurowings Discover flight schedule for summer 2022.
