Sardinia and Liguria: Discover Airlines expands its Italy route network for summer 2027

• Only direct routes from Munich to Alghero and from Frankfurt to Genoa
• Italy network grows to four destinations: Alghero, Bari, Brindisi, and Genoa
• Up to ten weekly flights in the 2027 summer schedule

Following the announcement of new destinations in Northern Europe and the United Kingdom, Discover Airlines is also expanding its Italy offering for summer 2027: the leisure airline will add flights from Munich to Alghero and from Frankfurt to Genoa to its schedule for the first time.

These two new routes are the only direct connections from the two German airports and complement the airline’s existing Italy network from Frankfurt to Bari and Brindisi. At the same time, frequency to Brindisi will increase starting next year, growing the airline's Italy program to up to ten weekly flights across four destinations. Airbus A320 aircraft will operate all routes.

With Alghero, Discover Airlines expands the Lufthansa Group's Sardinia portfolio from Munich — alongside Olbia and Cagliari — adding a new connection that will give travelers direct access to the northwestern part of the island. Flights begin in June 2027, operating twice a week, every Monday and Friday.

Starting in late March 2027, the leisure airline will also connect Genoa with Frankfurt twice a week, every Saturday and Sunday. The Ligurian port city is considered an ideal starting point for exploring the Cinque Terre and Portofino. The route is also part of a strategic partnership with Costa Cruises, which will take up a fixed share of the seats offered for cruise passengers.
