Gateway to the Lofoten Islands: Eurowings Discover flies to Evenes in Norway starting summer 2024
- The only non-stop connection from Germany to Evenes
- Travelling to the Lofoten Islands faster and easier than ever before
- Strong demand from tour operators and end customers
Starting in summer 2024, Eurowings Discover will add two weekly nonstop flights between Frankfurt and Harstad/Narvik Airport in Evenes to its flight schedule. The municipality is located in the north of Norway and is an ideal starting point for a trip to the Lofoten Islands. The Norwegian archipelago, which covers around 1300 km² and 80 islands, is considered a destination of longing in the Arctic Ocean and is particularly popular with travelers from Germany.
With Evenes, the Lufthansa Group leisure carrier is adding a destination in the north to its scheduled flight plan for the very first time, responding to the great demand from tour operators and end customers for direct connections to this region. Until now, the remote archipelago has only been accessible from Germany by connecting flights.
Between May 16 and September 8, 2024, Eurowings Discover will connect Frankfurt with Evenes every Thursday and Sunday in around three hours of flight time. The Airbus A320 with up to 180 seats will take off from Frankfurt in the morning and flies back from Evenes in the early afternoon. The flight times are coordinated with Lufthansa's feeder flights, so that travelers from all over Germany and Europe can benefit from the new direct connection. Bus and ferry services in Evenes also adjust to the flight times of Eurowings Discover in order to bring guests to the islands.
Despite its location in the far north, travelers can look forward to mild temperatures in summer. The archipelago is located between 100 to 300 km north of the Arctic Circle in the Atlantic Ocean and is known for its diverse and unspoiled landscape.
The flights are bookable as of now on eurowings-discover.com, lufthansa.com as well as with all German tour operators and in travel agencies.
