Discover Airlines to introduce free messaging on long-haul flights
- As of summer, free of charge and unlimited in all travel classes
- Similar to Lufthansa's free messaging offer on long-haul
- With Discover Airlines FlyNet® internet on board already today
Discover Airlines is introducing free messaging on its long-haul flights from the summer, joining the service recently announced by Lufthansa. SWISS and Austrian Airlines are also offering the service on selected long-haul flights.
In future, guests will be able to send and receive unlimited text and picture messages free of charge via their mobile devices during their flight with Discover Airlines - regardless of their travel class. This is already possible today, but is still subject to a charge. Long-haul travelers can currently purchase various FlyNet® Internet packages in advance or on board. The packages can be used with both Discover Airlines and Lufthansa.
"The introduction of this new complimentary service is a great upgrade for our guests. It also pays into our commitment to provide a seamless travel experience for guests combining Discover Airlines and Lufthansa flights," says Marco Götz, Chief Commercial Officer of Discover Airlines.
