Discover Airlines expands short-haul offering and flies to Great Britain for the first time in summer 2027
- Nonstop flights from Frankfurt to Bristol, Glasgow, and Inverness; additional flights to Glasgow from Munich
- England and Scotland are included in the flight schedule for the first time
- Up to eleven weekly flights to three destinations in Great Britain
Discover Airlines is expanding its flight offerings in the summer of 2027 and adding three new destinations in Great Britain to its route network. For the first time, flights to Bristol in England, as well as to Glasgow and Inverness in Scotland, will be included in the leisure airline's schedule—making it the only carrier to offer direct flights from Frankfurt to these three destinations in the future. Glasgow will also be connected to Munich—a route previously operated by Lufthansa. The flight time for each route is approximately two hours, and Airbus A320 aircraft will be used.
These cities are ideal starting points for exploring the rural regions of Great Britain with their vast natural landscapes. Bristol is located in southwest England near the Cotswolds—a hilly region known for its traditional stone villages. From Glasgow and Inverness, the mountainous Highlands in northwestern Scotland are within easy reach; this region is characterized by its picturesque natural scenery, featuring mountains, moors, and lakes. Near Inverness lies the famous Loch Ness, best known for the legend of the Loch Ness Monster, “Nessie.”
From nature to culture: New destinations for diverse travel experiences
With the addition of these three new routes, Discover Airlines’ summer flight schedule to Great Britain will expand to up to eleven weekly flights. The airline has also been flying to Shannon, Ireland, since earlier this year.
“We’re always on the lookout for attractive destinations to offer travelers even more choice and, above all, new travel experiences. We see a clear trend toward nature, outdoor activities, and trips that combine culture and scenery—our three new destinations fit this trend perfectly. They open up a wide variety of ways to discover Great Britain. We are all the more pleased that our guests will be able to reach these destinations this summer more easily than ever via our two hubs in Frankfurt and Munich,” says Marco Götz, Chief Commercial Officer of Discover Airlines.
Flights are now available for booking at discover-airlines.com, lufthansa.com, as well as through all German tour operators and travel agencies.
