#DiscoverUtah: Joint art project by Eurowings Discover, Utah Office of Tourism and Frankfurt-based street artist Justus Becker

• Creative kick-off for Eurowings Discover's inaugural flight to Salt Lake City: Justus Becker creates artwork in downtown Frankfurt
• Live painting from May 13 – 17 at Roßmarkt, Frankfurt
• Three weekly non-stop flights from Frankfurt to Salt Lake City starting May 23

From May 23, Lufthansa's leisure airline Eurowings Discover will be the first and currently only airline to offer a direct connection from the German-speaking region to Salt Lake City in the U.S. state of Utah.

On the occasion of the launch of this route, the well-known Frankfurt street artist Justus Becker, alias COR, is creating a special work of art in the city center: Following the theme #DiscoverUtah, Becker will design a 3x3 meter cube as live painting activity on Frankfurt's Roßmarkt between May 13 - 17. The art project is intended to serve as inspiration and to arouse people's curiosity for the special destination in the southwest of the USA.

"Travelling is my passion which has enriched me greatly over the years. I am excited to inspire others to travel and to bring the diversity of Utah to the heart of Frankfurt with this special art work," says Justus Becker. The artist is known for his style of alienating photo realism with abstract colors and shapes, using a mixed technique from brush to spray can. He often incorporates critical social topics in his work. Thus, he recently gained attention with his large mural of a peace dove in downtown Frankfurt.

Between May 23 and October 14, 2022, Eurowings Discover will offer three weekly non-stop flights from Frankfurt to Salt Lake City, taking off in Germany on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. In just under eleven hours flight time, travelers will reach the capital, which has also become popular among street art and art lovers. More than 80 murals and art installations decorate the city with its nearly 200,000 citizens. Besides, Salt Lake City is ideally located as a gateway for a road trip through the vastness of Utah with its famous national parks ‘The Mighty 5’ in the south.

For the young leisure airline, Salt Lake City already is the fourth out of seven destinations in North America that will be served this summer. In addition to flights to Tampa Bay, Fort Myers, Las Vegas and Salt Lake City, there will also be flights to Anchorage, Halifax and Calgary in the course of this summer.

• Official start of the art project on Friday, May 13 from 1 p.m. at Roßmarkt 10 (60311 Frankfurt)
• Live painting of the cube: Friday approx. 1-5 p.m.; Saturday to Tuesday daily from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
• End of the art event on Wednesday, May 18
