Discover Airlines touches down in Finnish Lapland for the first time - and plans to expand its “Nordics” offer

• Year-round connection to Kittilä in Finland launched with up to two flights per week
• High demand: Nordic destinations en vogue
• Connections to Evenes in Norway and Reykjavík in Iceland will be expanded from seasonal summer destinations to year-round destinations

Off to the North: On December 17, Discover Airlines took off from Frankfurt Airport (FRA) to Kittilä Airport (KTT) in Finland for the first time. The guests on flight 4Y1320 were warmly welcomed after a flight duration of around three and a half hours.

Discover Airlines offers direct flights to Kittilä twice a week all year-round. The seamless connection of Discover Airlines in Frankfurt and Munich to all Lufthansa Group airlines and many partner airlines makes it easier and more comfortable than ever for travelers from all over Europe to get to Kittilä.

Kittilä is located a few kilometers from the Arctic Circle and very close to the most popular winter sports area in Finnish Lapland: Levi. This snow paradise has over 40 ski slopes and offers winter sports activities such as reindeer and dog sled safaris and snowshoe hikes.

“Nordics” offer bigger than ever - further expansion planned

With the addition of Kittilä, the leisure airline is responding to the high demand for Nordic destinations. Alongside Evenes, Ålesund, Bodø and Reykjavík, Kittilä is the fifth destination in the airline's Nordics portfolio. Due to the high demand, Discover Airlines plans to expand its flights from Frankfurt to Evenes and from Munich to Reykjavík to year-round connections. Previously, these were only planned for the summer season. Both destinations will also be served twice a week in winter.
